You & Me

(with space between)

you left
and I walked away
leaving it to fate

you watched me
as I searched for you
and you laughed
when I could never find you
but somehow it was all right

when I fell
you smiled at me in your amusement
and when you laughed
I blushed and looked away
but it was all still okay

you taught me the lessons you knew I needed
which was something I didn't realize
until you left
I am who I am
with partial thanks to you

when I asked you for the answers
you raised a brow and chuckled
so I offered to show you mine
only after you showed me yours
and that turned out to be fine

I eventually figured it out
and you rewarded me with a kiss
and I made you promise
while you just grinned and nodded

that was after I hit the trouble spot
without you ever knowing
and while I confessed
everything that had happened
you held me
and I realized

this is home.
