at the hands of letters

what happens
when a writer
can't trust her language
when there's too many holes and gaps to fill

what becomes of the poet
when words betray her
leave her standing alone
all washed ashore

my words betray me
as they do you
they do no justice

how do you make amends with words
if you can't even make amends with the people who formed them?
